CAN Forum-Webinar September 2024

Los Angeles, CA (August 20, 2024) – Following Overdose Awareness Day on August 31 and honoring National Recovery Month in September, Cure Addiction Now (CAN), a leading medical research nonprofit dedicated to finding permanent cures for substance use disorders (SUDs), announced today it will host a Forum & Webinar on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles. This unique forum and webinar brings together renowned scientists leading substance use disorder (SUD) and mental health research to discuss the latest advancements in treatment.

Moderated by Kurt Rasmussen, Ph.D., Chief Scientific Officer at Delix Therapeutics and Chair of CAN’s Scientific Advisory Board, the panel will focus on topics ranging from the need for innovation in the treatment of substance use disorders, focused ultrasound neuromodulation as an adjunctive treatment strategy for substance use disorders, and new medications to aid with withdrawal symptoms, among other topics. Actress and advocate Lisa Vidal will also speak to her personal experience and heartbreak of losing her son to this disease.
